How it works:

Call me or send me an email telling me how I can help you.  I will reply with any questions or requests. After I understand what we are talking about, I will tell you my fee or how the charges will be determined. If you agree to the terms, we will set up a meeting at the landscape site.
After our consultation all fees will be paid, either in cash, check, Zelle, Vemno, or Paypal.

FAQs:

Q: What are your rates?
A: The charge for the first hour is $95. The following time is charged at $80/hour. If you need a landscape design the fee might be determined by the number of flower beds you need designed. This will be discussed at our first meeting. For some ongoing projects we can negotiate a fee.

Q: Do you work all over central Texas?
A: Yes. If it's too far, there maybe a mileage charge. I work primarily in Austin and San Antonio metro areas. I live in Austin but come to San Antonio a couple of days a month.

Q: When do you take appointments?
A: I prefer Monday through Friday, but if Saturday is the only day you are available we can work something out.

Q: I have a lake house about two hours from here. Will you go out there?
A: If you've got the money, I've got the time. We can discuss a fee.

Q: What if you cannot resolve my problem?
A: It will depend on the situation and the amount of time I spend with you. If I can I will refer you to someone I think can help (at no charge).

Q: Can I just call and talk about it over the phone?
A: Seldom can I solve a problem without seeing it. Everything will take place at the landscape site.

Q: Are you a landscape architect?
A: No, I'm a "plantsman," but I have been designing landscapes for some time.
The first part of designing is knowing what plants grow in our conditions. We'll consider soil, shade, wind, the plant varieties you like and don't like, the amount of maintenance you want, and other factors such as deer, children, allergies, drainage, and more. We'll work together to get the landscape you want.

Q: Do you install landscapes or do tree work?
A: No, and unfortunately at this time I do not have any one I can recommend to install it for you.

Q: Can you get it for me wholesale?
A: Don't count on it.

Q: Do you have a guarantee?
A: No, but as a consultant I use my knowledge of shrubs and trees to examine and recommend ways to enhance their health and attempt to reduce the risk of living near trees and a growing landscape. Plants are complex living organisms subject to many environmental stressors. As a consulting arborist and nursery professional I cannot detect every condition that could threaten a shrub or tree’s health or safety. Many conditions occur within the plant or below the ground in the roots. Nor can I guarantee the success of any remedial treatment, assure safety or predict how long a shrub or tree may live. Too many uncertainties are beyond my detection and control. Living near a growing landscape implies accepting some level of risk of shrub or tree failure.
